Düsseldorf Sprint Statistics: Petukhov too fast too early?

Posted by Jan Kocbach, 04 Dec 2010@13:38

Alexei Pethukhov used the typical Emil Jönsson tactics – high speed in all races, but “dying” in the final. The sum of the times of Pethukhov’s 4 races is 14:15 – 10 seconds faster than Fulvio Scola who is second fastest with 14:25. Emil Jönsson on the other hand managed to save some juice for the finals – being strongest in the end.

We see a similar trend in the women’s class where the winner Arianna Follis has an accumulated time which is 9 seconds slower than the fastest – Vesna Fabjan.

The below tables give you an overview over the time for each athlete in final, semifinal, quarterfinal and qualification (from left to right). In the last column you see the sum of the times.
