Some interesting details to be seen in the splits analysis from the mens pursuit race today ; Heikkinen was way back in the field for all of the race – coming to the front only for the final sprint. This looks kind of like the usual Petter Northug tactics – only Northug had to be up there fighting for the bonus seconds today and could not hold on to his normal tactics.

In the illustration above, a flat curve means that an athlete is fastest on a split. Observe how Heikkinen is way faster than the rest of the field on the second last split – whereas Northug looses a lot of time.
