Sprint predictions: Surprise Hellner victory made it tricky

Posted by Jan Kocbach, 24 Feb 2011@18:26

Of nearly 80 people setting up their predictions, nobody had guessed that Hellner would take the gold medal in the sprint today. In the womens class, Bjørgens victory was expected by most, but Kikkan Randalls fall in the quarterfinal was a disappointment to many – the American was a clear second choice among the XC predictors.

Tommaso Scalet hit best with the predictions – having Bjørgen and Jønnson on top. That gave 632 point – 17 points ahead of Alex Marchuk. Mamma came in third spot.
